SHARE THE SQUARE!
Duray at Hunyadi Square
This year, the Budapest100 project is happy to announce that the art of Tibor Duray is also included in the programme.
Date: 05-06/05/2018.
Budapest100 program is organized by the Contemporary Architecture Center (Kortárs Építészeti Központ KÉK - http://kek.org.hu/en/) for the 8th time. This year their motto is: SHARE THE SQUARE! Between May 5th and 6th many squares and buildings around Budapest are open for visitors offering exciting and interesting programs.
Tibor Duray's oeuvre will be also included in the festival with an exhibition of the reproductions of his works. Visitors are also invited to attend a lecture on the life and work of the artist by art historian, Barbara Dudás.
Venue: 1067 Budapest Hunyadi tér 3., 4th floor
In 1937, Tibor Duray moved to an apartment at the Hunyadi Square. For a few months he rented a small room, just opposite to the flat of Gyula Derkovits. Duray painted several outstanding works here, beside depicting Hunyadi Square, for example the Sleepers (1937, oil painting), piece of the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.
The exhibition will take place on the 4th floor of Hunyadi Square 3., where the visitors can see some reproductions of his works by a narrow selection. The building and the exhibition will be open all day on 5-6 May (Saturday and Sunday). The professional lecture is held by Barbara Dudás, art historian at 15:00 on 5-6 May
